Field Service Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

The Field Services Engineer position combines installation, troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, software, network and operating system issues.  This is a ‘road-warrior’ position requiring a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to and from various customer sites in the Long Island/NYC areas.

SKILLS

Hardware:

  • Server and PC repair- HP, Dell, IBM

  • Dell PowerEdge Servers

  • Desktops from various manufacturers

  • Printer experience – ability to replace all Field replaceable parts and troubleshoot day to day printer issues (HP, Xerox, Canon)

Operating Systems:

  • Microsoft Windows Server experience including NT, 2000, 2003, 2008

  • Desktop Windows Operating experience including NT, 2000, XP, and Vista

Software:

  • Microsoft Office Experience

Optional (a plus of you have any or all of the following)

  • VMS experience (hardware and software)

  • VMWare experience

  • Microsoft Exchange

  • Active Directory

  • Blackberry Server

  • Citrix

  • Scanner repair

  • Unix and DEC Alpha experience

  • IBM mainframe experience

  • SUN

  • Telephony/Communications

    • CISCO routers and switches – basic operating knowledge

    • CAT5 Cabling – basic knowledge
